AI Policy

1. Introduction
Muttaqien; Indonesian Journal of Multidisciplinary Islamic Studies (MTQ) recognizes the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) and its ability to support authors throughout the research and writing process. (MTQ), welcomes advances in this field, which provide opportunities to generate ideas, accelerate research findings, synthesize or analyze results, improve language usage, and draft manuscripts.
 
Large Language Models (LLMs) or Generative AI offer opportunities to accelerate research and its dissemination. While these opportunities can bring significant change, these technologies cannot replicate human creativity and critical thinking. MTQ policy on the use of AI technology has been formulated to assist authors, reviewers, and editors in making ethical judgments regarding its use.
 
2. Permitted Use of AI Robots
Authors are permitted to utilize robots or AI tools to support various aspects of manuscript writing, including:
  1. Editing and proofreading: AI robots can help identify grammatical and spelling errors and improve text fluency.
  2. Reference management: AI tools can facilitate citation management, reference formatting, and bibliography organization.
  3. Plagiarism checking: AI-based tools can help ensure the originality and integrity of manuscripts.
  4. Data analysis: AI algorithms can help analyze complex data and present results clearly.
 
3. Use of AI Robots is Not Allowed
While AI robots can assist in various manuscript preparation tasks, there are limitations where their use is not permitted:
  1. Content generation: AI robots should not be used to generate the main content of a manuscript. Authors are expected to contribute original ideas.
  2. Ethical Considerations: AI robots should not be used for data manipulation or other unethical practices.

 

4. Recommendations for Using AI Robots
Authors utilizing AI robots are advised to:
  1. Verify AI-generated content: Authors should review and validate the content suggested by the AI ​​robot.
  2. Transparent disclosure: Authors should disclose the use of AI robots during the submission process.
  3. Acknowledgments: Authors should appropriately acknowledge the contribution of AI tools in the manuscript.
 
5. Ethical Considerations
Authors are required to adhere to ethical guidelines and academic integrity when using AI robots. Any copyright infringement or unethical practices will be considered a violation of publication ethics.
 
6. Editorial Review
Manuscripts submitted to Nazhruna, whether AI-assisted or not, will undergo a peer review process to assess scientific merit and adherence to ethical standards.
 
7. Policy Review
The policy regarding the use of AI robots in manuscript writing may be reviewed and updated in accordance with developments in AI technology.
