Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of fine motor skills in early childhood through origami media at RA Al-Basyariyyah Parakanlima Village, Jatiluhur District, Purwakarta Regency. This research is descriptive qualitative research that aims to describe the situation objectively at the research site by using words or sentences. The subjects taken in this study were principals and teachers. The research object in this study is the development of fine motor skills in early childhood through origami media. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation using data reduction, data display, and data verification. The data validation technique in this study uses triangulation. This study indicates that there are several fine motor developments for early childhood in RA Al-Basyariyyah, Parakanlima Village, Jatiluhur District, Purwakarta Regency, including drawing shapes squeezing paper and folding origami paper. These three activities both develop fine motor skills in early childhood. The activity of folding origami paper is an activity that requires more perseverance, accuracy and concentration. It is evident from these three activities that folding origami paper becomes an activity to carry out fine motor development, which has its charm for early childhood because folding origami paper is like an activity to juggle a paper into a beautiful and unique shape
